Live Workshop: June 26th and 27th, 2-4pm CST

Day 1: Drawing the Eye

Draw along with me while I present a simple approach to drawing that can be applied to all the facial features. I'll also share essential information about the anatomy of the eye, so you can understand why it needs to be defined and shaded in specific ways in order to appear realistic.

Then I'll show you how to transfer this drawing to a canvas for painting on day 2!

Day 2: Painting the Eye

Using oil paint, I will demonstrate an Alla Prima (all-at-once) method for painting the eye. Skin tone mixtures and palettes will be covered, and everything learned here can be applied to painting any feature on the face.

We will finish with a fully complete and detailed painting of an eye!

Workshop will take place on Saturday, June 26th and Sunday, June 27th, 2021.
Each day from 2-4pm CST is dedicated to demonstration only. During this time, students on Zoom will be able to speak and ask questions in real time, and view-only students will have the option to comment via a text chat.
At 4pm the view-only feed will end, while the Zoom meeting with full workshop attendees will continue for feedback interaction.
Only 12 spots are available for full-workshop-attendance in order to limit the time required for feedback.
All attendees will receive materials lists and photo references via email in advance.
View-only workshop attendees will receive copies of the demonstration recordings only. The full workshop attendees will receive these recordings as well as the critique session recordings.
