Revel in the beauty of nature and light as you learn to create colorful paintings with atmosphere and depth. This class is taught by professional artist Lacey Swift, who will lead you through simple steps to create beautiful watercolor paintings.
Basic Watercolor Techniques
First, you'll learn a few watercolor-specific skills and principles for how to layer color. This will serve as the foundation for a series of postcard-sized compositions.
Wide Variety of References
You'll have access to tons of reference photos featuring a huge variety of terrain: Flower fields, farmland, mountains, deserts, rivers, and oceans! You can even bring your own vacay photos.
Atmospheric Perspective
Learn the principles behind showing depth with color. This will apply to any kind of landscape, and will enable you to enhance any scene to look more interesting and real than any photo.
Play With Color Palettes
See how the pigments you choose impact the mood of your painting! Working small allows you time for experimentation as you're lead through common popular palettes and their effects.
Is this class good for beginners?
YES! This workshop includes basic techniques in addition to how to control color mixtures and create various textures. This makes it a suitable option for those who have never painted or are new to watercolor, in addition to more experienced artists.
